<Research Interests> Structural biology study may provide detailed molecular and atomic level structural information of biomolecules to correlate with their biological functions in physiological states and disturbances in disease states. In our disease-oriented study, we proposed to em- ploy high resolution heteronuclear multi-dimensional NMR spectroscopy to determine the structure of human apolipoprotein E (apoE) and b-amyloid peptide (Ab) which are two key biomacromolecules in the patho- genesis of atherosclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. Structural determination of protein phosphatase inhibitor-2 was also studied by NMR spectroscopy as to reveal the molecular mechanism of phosphorylation and activation to some extent from the structural point of view . Another project was also performed to develop NMR spectroscopy as a new technology for the analysis of lipids and lipoproteins with atherosclerosis indication. <Selected Recent
